We have a service specifically aimed at meeting the accommodation needs of disabled people. The first in the private sector, we work closely and personally with our clients to understand their specific needs and requirements. Our niche and specialist area is providing and finding accessible properties for our clients.  It is challenging to find accessible properties to rent or purchase and we have a bespoke service for this.

We housed one of our clients who required a wheelchair friendly and accessible property and we have been working with him for over a year now.  Upon his specifications, we found him the perfect property in size, layout and location.

Although it was far from accessible, we saw the possibilities and since him moving in,  there have been lots of adaptions planned, organised and we project managed the entire thing.

First, we changed the traditional bathroom into an all singing and dancing wet room which he has recently said that the ‘usability of the space has made an incredible difference to my life’

For ease around the house, we made key-less entry to the front and back doors with door automation on all the windows as well.

The entrance to the property through the back and front garden was very unstable, uneven and dangerous and the stairs were steep with no support. So a huge part of the adaption project has been the making good the surrounding areas.

We laid a wheelchair friendly path along the side of the house and added balustrades to the stairs making the area fully accessible and safe for him.

The project is going full steam ahead and we are delighted that our client is on the pathway to independence…  J
