ACCESS INTO HOUSE

There is level access from the outside of the house via a very shallow ramp in the garage and through a widened 83cm door to the part of the house which includes the wheelchair accessible bedroom, kitchen diner and office area.

GROUND FLOOR BEDOOM
This bedroom has a widened 83cm door and a widened sliding door from bedroom to wet room. This bedroom also has a ceiling hoist which runs from above the bed to the opposite side of the bedroom, from which a transfer can be made to a shower/toilet chair and then there is flat access through to the en suite wet room.

WET ROOM
The wet room has half height folding doors around the shower area which enables a carer to assist with showering if needed without getting soaking wet. It also has a shower curtain rail for privacy when help isn’t being given. The wc is a standard one and it is positioned to enable a shower/toilet seat to fit comfortably around it. The wash basin can be raised or lowered for optimal height depending on the size of the person’s wheelchair.

KITCHEN DINER
The kitchen has a 2-metre raised height work surface with 115cm central gap and small cupboard and drawer on either side of the gap with doors opening from the centre. This is currently used as a combined computer/office space and work surface station and will allow for a wheelchair user to prepare their own hot drinks and snacks using those cupboards and a work top fridge.

ACCESS TO BACK GARDEN
There has been a raised deck built which has flat access from both the kitchen diner and the main lounge. This extends via a series of three gentle sloping ramps down to the rest of the back garden which is mainly laid to lawn.
The rest of the house is not specifically adapted but the other two downstairs reception rooms and main hallway are very spacious and so can be accessed easily by wheelchair.

LOCATION
LOCATION
The property is in walking distance to Reedham station & the two stations within a 10 minute walk have direct trains to central London in about 35 minutes and there are also beautiful country walks within 5 minutes’ drive – the best of both worlds.

Another selling point of this property is that the house is about two miles away from St Giles school, an excellent special needs school which is primary and secondary combined and caters for children with physical disabilities and severe to profound and multiple learning disabilities.

This beautiful home will be perfect for a family with a disabled or an elderly family member. Please get in touch asap for details of how to view and for more information if required.
